SMART New Year Resolution
I’m excited about our plan because I feel it has all the components of a successful program – variety, common sense eating, consistency (6 days a week for us to begin with) and motivation – Mark was in the Marines, so you can imagine how he “motivates.” But the best feature is that it includes a great deal of reality. On our day off, which will probably be on Saturdays, we can do what we want and eat what we want – that gives us something to look forward to during the week. Cell Phones – Pt 2
I don’t know if cell phone use causes brain cancer, but I believe there is reason for concern. I don’t know if cutting back on texting, talking, tweeting, Facebooking, or emailing will make you healthy – but I know one thing – it seems the more “connected” we are – the more disconnected we feel. The more available we are – the less time we have available. If we could spend a bit more time in one on one conversation rather than reading txt and emoticons – we may not only live longer, but live a more enriched life. After all, it is the relationships in our lives that makes life worth living – not the gadgets. Dying at age 32 is not natural
My heart goes out to the family of Brittany Murphy – an actress who starred in “8 Mile” and “Getting Married.” But my question is: what is so natural about a 32 year old woman dropping dead in her bathroom? According to the Associated Press, officials are ruling Murphy’s death as “natural causes,” of course, pending toxicology reports. But what is so natural about her dying at such a young age?
